Contacting us by telephone


1. When you call one of our People 1st phone numbers 875491 or 875492 you will be put forward to My Council’s switchboard.

2. You will hear a message advising you that calls will be recorded then giving you five options depending which service you want to contact. There is no need to listen to the whole message. If it is People 1st you want press 3.

3. If you know the extension number of the person you want to speak to press 4.

4. If you don’t choose any of the options you will be put in a general queue which can mean a longer wait.

5. If you are kept waiting more than 30 seconds you will be given the option of leaving a voice message. If you leave a message your call will be returned within 24 hours.

6. If it is the repairs service you want you should phone the Interserve Help Line on 0800 915 1215. There is no charge for calls on this line. .
